Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping - We have offered shipping and have been shipping puppies for almost 6 years. We prefer to ship with Delta (Skywest), American Airlines and/or occasional Continental. The cost for this is $250 and includes crate, health certificate, insurance on the puppy and misc items. The puppies normally arrives to you in the matter of a few hours. We will not ship if the puppy requires an overnight stay. Puppies may be shipped at 8-9 weeks depending on size of the puppies and weather permitting. If the puppy is particularly tiny, we may hold the puppy until that they are ready to go home. We usually like to hold them until they are 2 lbs or 10-12 weeks. In the summer or winter, the flight may be delayed until the weather breaks, but this is normally no more than a few days. We normally ship once a week and every attempt is made to accommodate the buyer, but the puppies safety is our first concern. Shipping can only be booked 24 hours in advance and we normally ship from Twin Falls, Idaho or Pocatello, Idaho. During the hot summer or cold winter months, we do make trips to Salt Lake or Boise for shipping this is a 3 1/2 hour drive one way so we try to combine shipping for convenience.
We may drive and meet you partially depending upon the distance, but we will charge for our expenses.

Retainer - We require a 50% retainer to hold a puppy. Retainer are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another puppy. If you choose a puppy, we want you to be serious about wanting this particular puppy. Adding a puppy to your family is a big decision and should not be taken lightly. Unfortunately, we are not able to control the circumstances on your end such as not having the money to pay or other life situations. We will allow you to choose another puppy when one that you like becomes available. If a situation occurs such as a puppy becoming ill or dying, you may place the retainer on another puppy. We do not guarantee size and weight is an estimate. We make every effort to honestly describe our puppies and their parents.
The remaining 50% of the price is due at 7 weeks. This
allows us time to prepare the puppy for shipping, schedule vet check ups and
book the puppies flight.
If the puppy is over 8 weeks, payment in full plus shipping expenses should be
sent as a money order.
At the buyer's discretion, full refunds may be given up until the time of shipping.
Sizes - We are frequently asked what is the smallest
sizes puppies that you have. We frequently get puppies in the 4-6 lb
ranges. We are working on the 3-4 lb range. But will only go this
small when we can safely know that they will be healthy. We will not
sacrifice size for health. The Shih Tzu dogs are built quite
different than the other smaller breeds. Shih Tzu's have cobby bodies and
normally a sturdy chest. The bone structure of this generally means that
while the dog is small in size, the weight is in the bone structure. So
it's not uncommon to see a Shih Tzu the same height as a Yorkie but to weigh
more due to the bone structure.
Pricing - Prices vary depending on quality, color and size. Prices range from $2500-$500 depending upon size, color, pedigree. The smaller sizes and more rare the colors the more expensive. We do not lower our prices to beat newspaper ads or other "cheap" puppies. We have spent a lot of time, work and money to obtain quality dogs. Our dogs are checked and screened for health problems, personality tested and genetics tested before even being breed. We have bought from reputable breeders to ensure that our quality is top. We offer a health guarantee and we only breed the best. We have had people come to us to purchase a puppy after having bought the "cheap" puppy to only then have spent a lot of money on vet bills and health care.
Why are your puppies so expensive? I can get one much cheaper in the paper? As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for!" I myself, have fallen prey to the 'bargain puppy' - more than once actually - and paid dearly for that choice. Be assured, our dogs come from healthy parents and healthy lines, and the puppies themselves are vet checked before going to their new homes. Our puppies also come well socialized, housebreaking well underway, vaccinated, wormed and ready for their new homes. The money you will save from not having vet bills from an unhealthy puppy, and the assurance that you are getting a healthy family companion is priceless. So unlike many who sell bargain priced puppies, we are here to help you with any questions you may have as your puppy grows. It is our intent that all puppies go to loving, caring homes.
Coloring - I am frequently asked about coloring. The Shih Tzu's are known to change coloring over time. I have had females up to three years old change color.
Trades - We occasionally offer trade options on our puppies or adults. While we rarely offer this option, there have been a few occasions were we have agreed to trades. Trades will only be allowed for equal quality and value or upon agreed upon terms. A contract will be signed to protect first and foremost the puppies as well as the buyer and seller in the trade agreement.
